Swanson bills itself as "America's Vitamin Superstore", we deliver the best quality vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements at discount prices." The web site is well organized and searchable. It mentions "aromatherapy" and "Homeopathic Remedies", but does not emphasize either. Some customers want those things, and the customer is always right. Details of sampled supplements and foods descriptions had no outrageous miracle claims, so the site is believable. Worth noting: The prices already compare well with retail list and with similar web stores. On top of that, they have frequent sales on select items, weekly specials, and clearance Blowout Specials. Overall impression: good store for aware customers, without catering to crackpots.Overall Rating: 5/5 The main thrust of this web store is clearly "Herbal Supplements and Natural Remedies." If that is your focus, give them a visit. Their vitamins appear to all be from natural sources. They claim that their products are "doctor recommended", for whatever that's worth. (Some physicians are liars and/or incompetents.) And they do offer "unconditional 100% money-back guarantee." Their "top sellers" page is worth a visit, as is their "blowout specials" page. Their weight loss products include Hoodia-Slim, Apple Cider Vinegar, and herbal formulations. Factually, weight is easily controlled simply through wise food selections and very modest exercise. Overall impression: If you have a strong belief in herbal supplements, this site rates 5/5. If you have healthy skepticism on such issues, rate 4/5.
Overall Rating: 4/5 The site starts off by saying "All the Top Brands! Vitamins, Supplements, Herbs" and "At least 20% OFF retail!" If you would rather focus on saving 20%-70% on top name Health products, they have a page for that, also. eVitamins has products in other categories, such as bodybuilding, herbs, weight loss. It is a negative sign that the latter group includes "carb blockers", "fat blockers", "fat burners", because those are all fantasy products. But, if such fantasy turns you on, go for it.Overall Rating: 3/5 MotherNature.com offers "thousands of all-natural Health & Wellness products." They also offer Monthly Deals. Some of their advice is in the class "it can't hurt, but it also can't help." Such includes article "Detoxing Your Ills", excerpts from "New Choices in Natural Healing", published by Rodale Press. It should be remembered that J.I. Rodale was visibly obese, and was rehearsing an appearance on the Dick Cavett show, at age 72, when he abruptly died of a heart attack. Of course, that interview was canceled. "Physician, heal thyself" also applies to preachers on health topics who are somewhere between 50 and 100 pounds overweight and under exercised. What that means is that balanced diets are good for health, obesity is very bad, and nutty theories are not needed to point us to sensible life style. Download free eBook 'Kill the Fat that's Killing You.' MotherNature site promotes "All-natural solutions for weight loss, weight gain, energy and endurance and more," and the "Healthy Living Bookshelf by Rodale". The words "nature" and "natural" do not make unneeded or over-priced products into golden cures.Overall Rating: 2/5 They certainly have a large selection of items that many people are eager to buy from them. If the Oprah Winfrey Show has convinced you that green tea and Acai Berry are wonder foods that you absolutely must have in your life, you will love HouseofNutrition.com. Oh, you have some doubt about taking health advice from a woman who bounces around a healthy weight without keeping on target? Hmmm. Just remember that being filthy rich does not make one an expert on anything but being (or perhaps becoming) filthy rich. Oh, that large selection of products: it appears to be mostly of the kooky variety. Save your money. Overall Rating: 1/5 |
